Mary Ann and I went with my parents last weekend to help them do work at our lake house. The neighbor came over and told us about 3 kittens he had found in his poontoon boat which is in his driveway. We all went over and looked at them, they were very cute. We estimated their age as about 2 weeks old, their eyes were still closed and some even had a bit of umbilical cord attached.
We thought about trying to catch the mother and take her kittens back to atlanta, but after leaving them alone for about 2 hours we discovered that the mother had already started moving the babies from her discovered hiding spot. We sat around and waited for her, hoping to figure out where she took her baby and then catch them both… but it didn’t work.
So instead we rescued the two remaining kittens from her, even though she was doing a pretty good job of keeping them well feed, warm and safe. I think she even ate their poo!
Now Mary Ann and I have been feeding and pooping these 2 kittens for the past week. All they do is eat, poop and sleep in 4 hour cycles. In pretty much any order they want :)
