This year, my big present was a set of Vex Robotics. The basic kit, a couple of the tank tread kits and an extra servo motor. Think of an erector set, but with motors and a brain. It can act autonomously or be controlled with a 6 channel radio. Currently, I’ve only managed to build a set of remote control tank treads… slightly boring perhaps, but I like em. My goal is to build a rotating platform on top with a paint ball gun that can elevate/depress and fire. I’ll need to find a semi-automatic, CO2 powered cheap one though.
Mary Ann’s present was a little more boring though perhaps much more useful. We got her a feather bed that is quite soft and comfy to sleep on. My dad got a portable DVD player and tons of DVDs since it was easy to pick. Mom picked her own presents out and managed to find things that she was quite happy to have, like a racket ball racket!
On Christmas day, we drove up to Alabama and spent 2 days with our Uncle. We drove 4 wheelers, motorcycles and go-carts in the wet and cold. Fun, but not quite as fun as when it isn’t wet and cold.
