This year, Mary Ann, Jesse and I decided to go to Dragon*Con which is basically a yearly dork festival here in Atlanta, GA. We had a lot of fun and saw a ton of people dressed up in great costumes, took lots of photographs and even got to meet a few of our sci-fi / fantasy idols. Have a look at some of the pictures, there were people dressed up as pretty much any sci fi / fantasy character you can think of… and there were even some almost totally naked chicks. Awsome!
Of course, there were a number of famous people also. For instance, there was Tahmoh Penikett who plays ‘Helo’ and Aaron Douglas who plays ‘Chief’ on Battlestar Galactica as well as George Takei who played ‘Sulu’ on the original Star Trek. Last, but certainly not least was Kevin Sorbo who played… well, if you don’t know he played ‘Hercules’ then you just suck.
The biggest down side though was the FOUR HOUR line for tickets on Saturday. It sucked so bad we went ahead and ordered 4 day passes for *next* year, saving like $45 off the price at the same time. Next year, we plan on dressing up *and* staying at the hotel down there. Fun!
